LARGE CONVIVIAL SPACES

Sylvie’s kitchen is spacious and filled with light, and for this reason we decided to make the most of it: along the walls run generous, functional cabinets, while the large central island serves both as a pantry and as an informal table for socializing.This is where the most memorable evenings come to life: a relaxed dinner with friends, a glass of wine, the tasting of the genuine products from her estate, amidst conversation and laughter.

For this kitchen we chose the sage-green shade called Mizzle, one of Farrow & Ball’s most iconic and sought-after hues. A sophisticated blend of grey and green, it conveys an immediate sense of calm and harmony. Unlike traditional greens, Mizzle is built on a grey base that makes it incredibly versatile: never too bold, always elegant, soft, and understated. The dialogue between this color and the wood creates a natural, fresh, and refined balance. Mizzle is a truly “chameleonic” shade: bright and airy in the morning, then warm and enveloping under soft evening lighting. A comforting, timeless combination that brings together nature and design, transforming the kitchen into a space that genuinely feels like home.

As in all traditional country kitchens, a hood with a large wooden beam takes pride of place in this layout. Entirely recreated by our craftsmen, it was shaped and installed on-site by our fitters, and its panels conceal a modern extractor hood. The induction cooking block is made of steel, and a shaped travertine backsplash has been fitted on the wall all the way up to the hood, to better protect the surface behind from splashes. The generous space in this kitchen also accommodates two sideboards for storing tableware and crystal glasses. To highlight these pieces when the room is darker, we chose backlit glass-front cabinets. A soft, discreet light that can be used to keep the kitchen in a cozy, twilight glow.
